Parade, Concert Despite Downpour

Pouring rain didn't stop the hundreds of Jewish kids proudly parading through the streets of Flatbush, ending with a concert starring 8th Day.

Pouring rain didn't stop the hundreds of kids parading their Yiddishkeit openly and proudly through the streets of Flatbush. The 45 member marching band didn't flinch as the rain came down! Holding signs of "es iz geshmak tzu zain a Yid" they were out to tell the world - I am excited about my Yiddishkeit!

The parade ended up on Avenue N outside headquarters of Mayan Yisroel. Torah, Tefillah and Tsedaka with kids calling out pessukim and saying Tehillim together. BMX bike riders and a giant fire! Admission, food, snacks, raffle prizes - All free - all leshem shamayim!

Divrei Torah from Rav Moshe Tuvia Lieff, Mara d'asra of Agudas Yisroel, opened an exciting fun-filled concert with the 8th Day Band.

3500 Yidden celebrated together and when the rain came down again and everything seemed to be over, it was all put back together and the event continued stronger than before! Thanks to Rabbi Sholom Mendelson and Dalia Luria for the incredible work!

Thanks to the 63rd precinct, Lieutenant Yitz Jablon, Councilman Chaim Deutsch, and Avrumi Brown.

Rav Yoseph Vigler summarized it all: "If kids can associate Yiddishkeit and Kavod Shamayim with pleasure and when they see determination in the face of the adversity of rain, then what can be more enticing than wanting to grow to be ehrliche Yidden who are determined to change the world for good!" he said.
