The streets of Minnesota's capital city were witness to an incredible show of Jewish pride this past Sunday with a Great Parade in honor of Lag B'Omer.

Marching proudly were students of Lubavitch Cheder Day School, rabbis, lay leaders, and community members.

Leading them were head shliach Rabbi Moshe Feller as well as Rabbi Gershon Grossbaum.

Beginning at Lubavitch Cheder Day School on Ford Parkway, the procession continued on to Snelling Avenue, a central artery, where countless onlookers - drivers, pedestrians, and residents - took in the messages of Jewish pride and observance lofted high by the marchers.

The parade was preceded by a rally at the Cheder, led by Rabbi Mendel Feller, during which the assembled heard words of motivation and encouragement from Rabbi Moshe Feller and Rabbi Asher Zeilingold, spiritual leader of Adath Israel Synagogue.

Following the parade, the community headed across the Mississippi to Minneapolis, where Rabbi Mordechai Grossbaum led a festive Lag Baomer celebration. A delicious barbeque was enjoyed by everyone, as well as various exciting activities.

Lag Baomer is the day that marks the passing of the great sage Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, who instructed that this day, upon which his life's work was completed, be celebrated joyously. The Lubavitcher Rebbe, of blessed memory, encouraged that the day be utilized to take to the streets in parades expressing Jewish unity and pride - "Indeed, how goodly and pleasant it is when brothers dwell together."
